WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Every day, our halls are filled with music, song and the hope of making a positive impact in the lives of our community. So it’s music to our ears when students, parents, alumni, donors and performers sing the praises of what they experience here. We’re proud of all we’ve achieved, and prouder still of the achievements of those around us. Thank you!
We have been so pleased that our two children have been able to continue with their piano lessons, despite the challenges of the pandemic. The teachers and staff of the Rockland Conservatory of Music offered virtual or safe in-person lessons, as well as flexibility for make-ups, so we never missed out. We love to listen to all the new music our children are able to play!

I’m 17 and have been taking lessons here for 10 years. The Conservatory is my musical family and I’m grateful for it, even as I go off to college.

piano student

RCM has taught my children life long skills: to persevere; to find success from hard work; and to enjoy the process of learning!
Sarah

mom of a budding guitarist

My RCM experience in a nutshell: We sang as waiters at a fundraising gala. We sang at the NY stock exchange tree lighting. We sang in a national choir more than once. I learned how to sing at RCM (and sing well I might add).
Anthony

professional singer and RCM Alumni

The Conservatory helped me find my voice. Literally. As an older singer, I’ve learned how to let go of my fear, relax, and make a song my own. What a great experience.
Marlene

voice student

I believe music improves our community’s quality of life and builds confidence. It is wonderful to have Rockland Conservatory available so close to home.
Cliff

Local Business Owner

Our granddaughter, Grace, is a RCM piano student and looks forward to her weekly lesson. Not only does the lesson provide Grace something to look forward to, but the practice sessions and ongoing mastery of this musical instrument gives focus and a feeling of accomplishment, and, yes, pleasure. Grace has formed a special bond with her piano teacher, and her development as a pianist over the past year has been profound and obvious. If your child or grandchild is serious about music, the RCM is the local premier academic facility to foster this passion.

Robert L. Gordon

grandfather of a piano student

Playing the violin makes my entire body vibrate with sound.
Benjamin

Suzuki Violin student

I wish I hadn’t stopped lessons years ago, but now in my sixties, I’m enjoying every minute. RCM is not just for kids!
Frank

guitar student

RCM has the most committed, fun and loving people ever. It’s been the perfect place for our little ones to nurture their love for music.
Kitty & Nari

parents of Suzuki violin playing brothers

Our teacher takes the time to walk us through every part of learning a song. And we love the option of having group or individual lessons.
Julie & Mary

Suzuki Violin sisters

The staff and teachers at RCM are all wonderful and make you feel like you’re part of the RCM family. And their teachers are talented musicians with great people skills who know how to inspire their students.

Thank you RCM for helping our family through the years, and especially during the pandemic.
